Hi my name is Corey and I own The District Dog. I started working with dogs back in my undergrad years when I went to University of Montana in Missoula. There I worked for a company which provided back country hikes! After graduating with a degree in History I went back East to Boston, where my family lives, and looked for professional work – while dog walking in the interim. I found I loved caring for dogs and saw a potential to create higher standards. I saved up and started my first location in Hoboken, NJ www.thehobokenhound.com, three years ago. One of my good friends from undergrad in Montana is now a Professor here in DC and he got me thinking, Why not franchise and start one here and further my concept. I first started working with someone here, soon to find out having a business partner is a very hard relationship, so I think I will stick to being the one and only alpha dog for the time being
Below is my Jack Russell, Elroy- named after the boy from the Jetsons…..”Heeere comes Elroy!” He is happy to be out and about socializing and being the DD Mascot.
I will be looking for dog companions as I grow- If you are interested in working with me to care for the District’s dogs here is my philosophy…
The service at DD is meant to provide an experience. We do not just walk dogs. We foster community, make lives better, and get paid pretty well for playing outside with dogs. To be a part of the DD team you have to want your clients feeling secure that their loved one is getting the best possible service, love, and most importantly safe exercise day in and day out. Aside from a love of dogs, we seek out dog companions who are reliable, conscientious, and trustworthy.
We require a full background check, a clean driving record and great verifiable personal references.
